Post 7: Changes to my study program

 Hello everyone!

Today we will talk about my university career and the changes that in my opinion I should have.

I am currently studying Public Administration. The multidisciplinary career that in essence is super complex, as this has specialties mainly in government studies and state administration, administrative procedures, public services, also provides training in law related to approaches to state and public management, budgetary issues, international relations, research methods, project formulation and a much areas that involving bureaucratic tasks. This career lasts 5 years, we are not considered a faculty and the building located in Huérfanos 1724 is our school and we share it with the political science career.

However in classes and the dynamics of certain subjects, have made me really question if I want to continue, because I am a person who is fascinated by the practical, social, actions, in short, and many of the subjects in my opinion are too theoretical and I feel that they overshadow the curriculum with issues such as epistemology of science, ideas and contemporary political debates among other branches that I feel are inactive in our task. Furthermore, they should promote more practical areas such as ministries, national services, public companies, governance, etc., where more emphasis is given to real and practical work, in addition to learning what to do in these institutions.

Well, I think that priority should be given to public institutions, focusing the branches in each of them or as much as possible.

That's all.

  1. Worst of all is that the pandemic has made it even more difficult to know the Chilean administration

  2. Unfortunately, there are many courses that are "fillers" in the curriculum and we don't learn anything that will be useful when we enter the working world.
